Reiki (pronounced Ray - Kee) is a form of holistic energy healing.
In a nutshell: When you have a Reiki Treatment, the client will lie down on usually a massage table remaining fully clothed. The Reki practitioner will hold or hover their hands in certain points around the clients body for a minute or more in each spot.
Some benefits of Reiki are;
Although nothing is guaranteed and each session is different.
Sometimes clients can have an emotional or spiritual results as well.
If the client has a specific issue or physical ailment / disease, they may need only one or they may need a few, or several treatments depending on the severity of the issue and their own body's response to the treatment.
Reiki was originally developed and taught by Dr Mikao Usui in Japan in 1865.
Rei is interpreted in English to mean higher knowledge or spiritual consciousness.
And Ki means life force energy, it is also known as Chi in Chinese or Prana in Sanskrit.
The Ki in a person's energy body flows along the meridian channels, which lead to and connect their acupressure points and chakras.

Energetically what happens in a Reiki treatment is that the practitioner is basically transmitting ki energy to the client. It is not their own ki energy, but it is coming from the universe.
The practitioner is somewhat like a channel for the energy, and they direct it to different points on the clients body.
This universal energy enters the clients body, helping to clear their energy body, meridian channels and chakras.
This clearing of the energy body can often manifest in physical results for the client.
It is important for me to note that Anyone can channel and transmit energy to others and to themselves in person or at a distance. People do this all the time with or without thinking about it.
The benefits of going to a Reiki practicioner is that they have experience gained through the practice of doing it, as well as knowledge of how to use and an attunement to different symbols which help to transmit the Reiki energy. Additionally a practicioner who is dedicated to their practice would likely have a clear energy system, with less of their own blockages, allowing for more benefits to the client.
Anyone can choose to learn Reiki, it is not very difficult! In order to become a Certified Reiki Practicioner, a person would learn about the practice and Reiki symbols, pass a short test and receive an attunement from a Reiki Master. There are only 3 levels to Reiki; Levels 1, 2 and 3 - Master. Often Levels 1 and 2 can be taken together in the same weekend but then the practicioner is advised to practice for a Minimum of 4-6 months before taking the master course.
Have you ever tried Reiki?
What was your experience?
Where would you recommend that people go for a Reiki treatment in your area?
